Editor, Features Writer and Art Director, Ottawa Renovates magazine
This is a multi-page glossy and digital magazine promoting Ottawa renovators and the RenoMark program. Responsible for editing, editorial planning, feature writing, headline-and-cutline writing, design, and final proofreading.  Ottawa Renovates is published twice yearly with a distribution of about 30,000.


Blog writer, Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association
Digital content writing for the Greater Ottawa Home Builders Association for use in social media to promote the renovation industry.  Responsible for writing up-beat, informative, fun-to-read blogs for Ottawa homeowners considering or in the midst of renovation. About 150 blogs published. 

 

Content writer, Laurysen Kitchens, Ottawa

Worked with a team of three others to write and produce Laurysen Collection, a 68-page magazine for the Laurysen Kitchens showroom and its clients.

 

Ghost writer

Specializing in writing magazine columns and digital newsletter content for subject matter experts. 

Editor and Writer, Bounder Magazine, Ottawa

A highly-popular magazine with stories about hunting, fishing, classic cars, cooking, travel, fine dining, vintage vehicles, music and more. Responsible for co-ordinating and editing the work of about 15 writers as well as writing particular feature stories (mostly profiles of people in the community). Some photographic work as well as the commissioning of photos; constant fact-checking and fine-tuning. Published three times a year; distribution approx. 30,000.

Newspaper editor, photographer and features writer, Dialogue, Kingston, Ont. 

Newspaper of the Diocese of Ontario, the Anglican Church of Canada. Monthly.

Responsible for editing the entire publication; photography; feature writing; editorials; layout; organizing and assisting volunteer writers. During this time, Dialogue won many awards for design, photography, feature-writing and editorial writing from the Canadian Anglican Newspaper Editors’ Association. Circulation approx. 100,000.

 

Community newspaper editor, photographer and features writer

Rideau Lakes, Ont.

Writing and editing for three different weekly community newspapers. Many published columns, news and feature stories; responsible for organizing, helping, co-ordinating and commissioning writers and photographers. Responsible, as community newspaper editors often are, for layout, design, photography, interviews, editorial analysis, editorials, research, fact-checking and sweeping the floor, if necessary.

Published short stories in Canadian publications. Winner of the Wendy Patrick award for creative writing. First place, Short Story category, Associated Church Press. Second Prize, Short Story Competition, Writers' Ink.
